We are seeking views on our proposals to invest in facilities for people walking, cycling, wheeling (use of a wheelchair, mobility scooter or pushchair), and travelling by bus along the A432 (between Station Road in Yate and the Wick Wick Roundabout, via Coalpit Heath).&nbsp;We sought initial views on this scheme of work in spring 2022 alongside proposals for the A4174.  This round of engagement focuses on the designs for the A432 only as consultation for the A4174 proposals was completed separately at the end of 2023. The proposals

We have sought funding from the West of England Combined Authority to be invested in improved facilities for those walking, wheeling (use of a wheelchair, mobility scooter or pushchair), cycling or travelling by bus. This is part of a strategy to make it easier, safer and more pleasant to use active and sustainable travel options and therefore encourage more people to consider using their cars less (especially for short journeys).What is proposed along the A432 between Wick Wick roundabout and Station Road in Yate?<ul><li>We plan to make improvements to several bus stops along the route, including introducing or upgrading shelters, where feasible, and relocating certain stops to provider greater space for all users.</li><li>We plan to create a new separate cycle track and footway, where feasible, along with introducing a new 20mph speed limit along Station Road in Yate (between North Road and Westerleigh Road) and through Coalpit Heath.</li><li>We plan to make improvements to several junctions along the route including new and improved signalised crossings.</li><li>We plan to build additional pedestrian crossing points and upgrade existing crossings to make it easier for pedestrians and wheelchair users to get where they need to go.</li></ul>&nbsp;<a href="#_msocom_1" id="_anchor_1" language="JavaScript" name="_msoanchor_1"></a>For more details of the proposals, please review the FAQs <a href="https://a432improvements.commonplace.is/en-GB/proposals/faqs/step1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a> and take a look at the design drawings, maps and visualisations via the homepage.
